Dear Bloggy,
It has been a long time that I updated my blog. I am sorry for that because I did not manage to log in my account.
Compared to New Zealand, I think I am more adapt to the life here due to my sister and friends from my country here. I still feel lonely but not as bad as in NZ. Maybe I have kind of get used to loneliness after these few years. I have few housemates in my university hall but.... I don't know how to interact with them. It is kind of like fail in communication. They are quite nice but I feel a different in culture. When they talked about drama like Doctor Who or Star Wars movies..... I totally lost since I never watch that before. Well, still I got some cakes and dinner from them. So, they are kind of nice. I must look like a nerd to them haha.
Local student (well some in my classroom) here may not as friendly as NZ people, from my personal thought. They are some that are friendly, well some. Most I cannot feel any connection. I have troubles doing group assigment with my team members because the way they handle things are quite reckless.
For example, we should had presentation but the girl was holding a large piece of A4 paper and........... READ................ with monotone. It was so embarrasing that she was answering a simple queation wrongly with her confident look. I really feel ashamed of this. I do not care much about the mark anymore. You can say I am negetive thinker but this never ever happened in my previous university. OMG .... I hope they can really carry their responsibility seriously instead of acting that we had lots of meeting (which most of the time just chatting, well I don't talk during that time).
Well we have chinese student in my classroom but I can still find some rich children just come to UK in ''enjoy'' attitude. Oh please... you should at least do your work and complete your group assignment before playing, not just left 1 poor person to rush all the thing. I guess every race or country will has student who are just 'lucky' to spend their time recklessly and no worry for passing the degree in university.
I have not putting effort in studying for these few months. Things that I try to enjoy myself were online and eat :P
I have been watching youtube much more here. I watched Taiwan and Korea Entertainment shows most of the time plus dating proggrame from China. Sometimes I watch Bollywood or Thai movie haha.
My university got a Korean Mart here and the foods were obviously more expensive than what I can got in my country. However, I buy lots of frozen dumpling (mandu) which I normally can just boil it and eat. I don't cook much here eventhough I am self-catered hall. Cooking really takes lots of time and I do not have long break to cook for my lunch. So, I prefer something quick. I also like red bean bun (Tao sha bao) from the koren mart. It was my favourite snack or dessert.
When I stayed with my sister, she bought tiramisu from Tesco and it really taste so good! ^_^
Much more better than those sell in shop which is much more expensive.
My sister cook really well and I am so amased of her cooking skill. i really hope I can stay with her but she will not allow. Haiz~ how I hope she will invite me to stay together with her... I cannot decide which hall I want to stay for next year. I really do not want to be alone anymore. Prefer can stay with friends.... that I like hahaha.
Oh actually I went to homestay and Prague during my christmas holiday. I also travelled to Bath and Cardiff before that, with China friends. It was seriously tiring because they were too depend on me. I hope they don't forget the purpose they come to UK to learn UK and speak more. If not eventhough they graduate with flying colour, they won't make it in real job in future. I know they are not bad but I won't travel with them again :(
Too tiring when they want me to translate the menu one by one for about 20 minutes while I am starving.
About homestay iin UK, I was assigned to a very special family. As my host parent was a women that was smart and I could say she was a kind a strict teacher. Both her sons were smart as well. And her boyfriend was so artistic. I could not believe how smart or talented they were. They flipped my view about UK people. Maybe people in older time really pay more effort in studying and what they like. I hope I can meet more people like them in university. I was very shy, I did not interact much during the stay, and I feel kind of sorry for them because my smelly boots.
BUT the CHRISTMAS MEALS were really good!!
Best local dished I had in UK so far.
By the way I just remember that UK will has lots of rain during December (Winter) and lots of place were flooded. The trains were cancelled or changed most of the time, so have to be very careful in planning during this season. Better not to buy ticket too fast as the weather may get very bad.
Prague with my sister and her boyfriend was kind of comfortable compared to trip in UK. Maybe we are more easy to talk and we understand each other better. Prague attractions were kind of centered but 3 days will be sufficient enough. It was not really a big country. The foods were ok but better than UK local food (I think :P) Language was really a problem there as English was not the first language.
Hence.....
English was NOT USEFUL enough to communicate even in WESTERN countries. I saw korean words instead. I believe that in next 10 years, asian language will be more widely used internationally as the influence will become stronger. I hope that day will come.
Talk about language, I always think that WORLD is really UNFAIR.
Asian that fluence in Englisg language will NOT be praised in westerner countries while
a Westerner that learn basic asian language or have level lower than a kindergarden kid will be praised and encourage in Asia. I hope this situation will change too because lots of more talented, hardworking people are more entitled for higher paid job.
Well then that's all for today. One of my friend will go to Japan for a month (one of the 10 exchange student that was selected among students from Australia, so proud of you! ^_^) I hope I can go there too, like Okinawa or Hokkaido. I also wish to travel Korea and Taiwan for food and good nature sceenary. I haven't got a part-time job/ intern, hope things get better~
Goodnight~
